HD remaster and recut version of Dragon ball z done for its 20th century. It premiered on Fuji TV on April 5th 2009 at 9:00am just before One Piece, and the two shows are being marketed together as 'Dream 9', which refers to the hour in which they both air. Two issues of Shounen JUMP have included some primary information about the series. It is not a new animation but it simply remastering a original anime, and change the title DRAGON BALL Z to DRAGON BALL KAI the Z is completely removed from the title. This is one of my favorite anime's ever!... it has updated sound effects, new opening and ending themes. TOEI animation would be edited to akira toriyama's original story in the manga, only a few minutes of filler material with no impact to the story have been left in.

It's just right that they did this now that the plot is truly finished. DBZ has a big fanbase, proven by its namesake live-action movie that premiered internationally (which unfortunately didn't make the cut).
